East Staffordshire Conservatives are inviting local people to come forward as candidates for the 2011 East Staffordshire Borough Council elections.East Staffordshire Conservative Association are beginning the search for local candidates to join a winning team of Conservatives on East Staffordshire Borough Council.
The local Party is seeking candidates from all parts of East Staffordshire who are eager to stand for the Borough Council.John Barkham, chairman of East Staffordshire Conservative Association, said;“The people of East Staffordshire have elected Conservatives to lead both the Borough Council and the Staffordshire County Council. The Borough Council has achieved a great deal under Conservative leadership and has an ambitious programme for the future in the difficult times ahead. Equally the County council has set about a rapid agenda of change.
To follow up from these successes we are eager to get candidates in all wards of the Borough council for the 2011 election”Cllr Richard Grosvenor, Leader of East Staffs Borough Council said – “The Conservatives are a hardworking and dedicated group. With Borough elections in 2011, I am keen to build a strong team and have as many people coming forward as possible. It’s important we can get candidates from all our villages, towns and communities”.In order to ensure the interests of the people in the wards receive the attention they deserve, the Party is developing plans to bring in capable new people from all areas & backgrounds.
John Barkham, Added, “We are therefore seeking to increase the number of potential Conservative candidates for Borough Council wards for the 2011 Borough election, when we intend to field Conservative candidates in all wards.
”Local Conservatives are now keen to hear from any persons, who reside in the Borough Council electoral area, who are qualified to vote and are interested in serving their community.

Membership of the Conservative Association is not necessary for making an enquiry or receiving information but is a condition upon selection and nomination. We aim to review applications in January 2010 with the objective of having candidates selected by May 2010. We are working to open up candidate selection to all like-minded people who have the will to represent the communities & wards in East Staffordshire.
