No to farm sell offs!Local Conservatives have launched a petition against Staffordshire County Council plans to sell off farm land for large scale hosing development. Burton and Uttoxeter Conservatives have joined up with local concerned residents to launch a campaign against plans which could mean thousands of houses being built on land around Rolleston and other villages in East Staffordshire.

Save Our Care HomesStaffordshire County Council plans to axe Care Homes and Daycare Centres across Staffordshire. Although we recognise that there is an increasing number of elderly people requiring care and that a long term strategy for their care is needed, we do not believe Staffordshire County Council has acted properly in this matter.

Protect Our Post Offices5 post offices are to be axed in Burton and Uttoxeter under a deal between the Post Office & the Government.  Branches in High Street and Stappenhil in Burton, Heath in Uttoxeter, and in Marchington and Mayfield will be shut. Post Offices are central to our communities – this is the message from Burton and Uttoxeter residents.

Conservatives sweep to victory in Staffordshire
Conservatives swept to power on Staffordshire County Council, following an overhwhelming vote for change at County Hall.  The results were an emphatic backing for the Conservatives manifesto commitments to reduce Council Tax, invest in the counties crumbling roads, and cut out waste and inefficiencies.  49 Conservative Councillors were elected across the County, leaving the Labour Party with just 2 Councillors in the whole of East Staffordshire.
